v2.0.0 Jun 1, 2026 Latest

Two new themes, two new action types (Brief This and TL;DR), and a full visual overhaul with 3D depth, icon-based action buttons, and a reorganized layout.

New
  • Dusk theme: dark purple palette added alongside the existing Light and Dark themes
  • Dawn theme: light rosy palette added alongside the existing Light and Dark themes
  • Brief This: get a sharp analyst brief of any article, report, or webpage; includes headline, summary, watch out for, confidence rating, and source link — works on Google Docs too
  • TL;DR: quick 3–5 sentence plain-language summary of any page, for when you just need the gist fast
Improved
  • Theme toggle: now cycles through all four themes (Dawn, Light, Dusk, Dark) in order
  • Action buttons: rebuilt with icon tiles for a cleaner, more descriptive look
  • Panel layout: greeting moves to the bottom-left, Upgrade to Pro to the bottom-right
  • Summary readability: Summaries and Watch Out For return in paragraph format with line breaks for easier reading
  • Panel depth: the side panel now has a slight spatial 3D effect with a subtle lifted shadow and soft top-edge highlight on cards; each theme has its own tuned version so the effect feels natural in every mode
  • Result header: all result types (Analyze, Brief This, TL;DR) now show a consistent icon and headline
  • TL;DR cards: simplified — no section labels, no confidence badge, no Compose This button
  • Compose This placement: now appears below the Source section across all result types
  • Time saved tracking: calculation updated to include all action types
  • Panel footer: email replaced with "Made by Spiro" linking to dev page dmitrispiro.com
Fixed
  • Upgrade to Pro panel: text was invisible in Dusk and Dark themes; all text is now readable across all four themes
v1.2.0 May 27, 2026

Lifetime usage tracking introduced with time-saved estimates. Daily usage redesigned as animated progress bars.

New
  • Lifetime usage tracking: estimates time saved based on 8 minutes per analysis and 3 minutes per Compose
  • Running total in popup: appears below the greeting as a personal record; hidden until the first analysis is completed
  • Stats panel: live panel above the footer includes total analyses, composed messages, and estimated time saved
  • Usage progress bars: daily Analyses and Compose counts now shown as animated progress bars; turn red when the limit is reached
Improved
  • Daily limit screen: now shows time saved today before the upgrade prompt
  • Lifetime stats placement: moved to panel footer for cleaner separation from today's usage
  • Panel spacing: tightened top spacing with added breathing room between the Analyze button and usage meters
Removed
  • Panel header logo: removed from the panel header; the stats bar takes its place as the identity anchor, leaving the panel feeling less cluttered
v1.1.0 May 22, 2026

Tables now cap at Partial confidence and automatically surface a verification warning in Watch Out For. Side panel footer added with contact and review link.

New
  • Side panel footer: contact email and Chrome Web Store review link pinned to the bottom of the panel regardless of content height
Intelligence
  • Table verification warning: tabular data with numeric column/row headers or multiple side-by-side time periods now always triggers a verification warning in Watch Out For
  • Table confidence cap: tables now return Partial confidence by definition, preventing overconfident readings on dense numeric layouts
  • Axis and period anchoring: explicit axis identification and period anchoring rules added to prevent trend misattribution on tables
1.0.0 May 19, 2026

Public release on Chrome Web Store, post beta testing. Pro waitlist and upgrade flow built directly into the extension. Usage limits and AI calls now enforced and processed server-side.

New
  • In-extension Pro waitlist: email signup form embedded directly in the upgrade and limit screens; no external redirect
  • Popup upgrade button: routes directly to the waitlist form in the sidepanel
  • Premium upgrade card: subtle gradient background, blue accent border, PRO badge
  • PlotStack disclaimer: text added under the Pro CTA clarifying that submissions go to PlotStack
Improved
  • Compose persistence: composed message and tone are saved across sessions and restored on reload
  • Live usage counter: daily usage count is now accurate and consistent across sessions
  • Third-person compose: all Compose This messages now written in third person, making them easier to copy and send
  • Daily limit reset: usage resets at local midnight bucketed by the user's timezone, not UTC
Fixed
  • Duplicate upgrade sections: upgrade button is now hidden when the daily limit screen is active, preventing two CTAs from showing at once
0.2.2 May 13, 2026

Source URLs now saved with every analysis. Compose This persists across reloads, and search now matches against page URLs.

New
  • Source URL: each analysis now saves the tab URL at capture time and displays it as a clickable link below Confidence; a tooltip explains screenshots aren't stored
Improved
  • Button rename: "Capture Full Page" renamed to "Analyze Screen" in both the sidepanel and popup for accuracy
  • Compose This persistence: composed messages survive sidepanel close/reopen, restoring tone and message automatically
  • Source URL in search: searching by domain or page name now matches against the source URL, not just the analysis text
Fixed
  • Tooltip direction: source tooltip now opens upward so it doesn't clip at the bottom of the panel
  • Popup source URL: analyses triggered from the popup now correctly capture and display the source URL (previously only worked from the sidepanel button)
0.2.1 May 12, 2026

Comprehensive side panel overhaul. Pro upgrade flow introduced directly in-panel. Dark mode contrast improved across the board.

New
  • Upgrade button: green ↑ button added to the header; toggles to ✕ when the panel is open
  • Upgrade panel: opens as a card above analyses without disrupting existing content; includes a benefits list and CTA
  • Daily limit screen: now includes a premium dark CTA button and Pro benefits list linking to vizbuddy.plotstack.dev
Improved
  • Capture section: heading, button, and usage count are now always pinned at the top; no longer toggled with other states
  • Active analysis card: now displays as a card matching the style of archived analyses
  • Headline placement: appears in the card header in both collapsed and expanded states, replacing the "Analyst Summary" label
  • Archived analysis actions: Clear button and timestamp footer replace the ✕ icon, matching the active analysis layout
  • Capture button width: now a fixed centered width instead of stretching the full panel width
  • Dark mode contrast: improved across timestamps, labels, clear buttons, card borders, and dividers
  • Spacing: usage count gap, loading state bottom margin, and limit screen bottom margin all adjusted
Fixed
  • Headline text selection: headline text in cards is now selectable without triggering collapse/expand
  • Chevron consistency: active and archived analysis chevrons now behave the same way (▲ expanded, ▼ collapsed)
  • Dark mode buttons: upgrade button and Pro CTA are now visible and readable in dark mode
Removed
  • New Analysis button: removed; the pinned capture button at the top replaces it
0.1.1 May 7, 2026

Small quality-of-life update with a time-aware greeting in the popup.

New
  • Dynamic popup greeting: changes based on time of day and day of the week; will personalize with the user's first name when accounts are introduced
